Safety and Compliance

Occupation Health & Safety

Ensuring health and safety in the NDIS industry is Team Strives biggest focus for both participants and workers. Team Strive focuses on comprehensive and proactive approach that aligns with NDIS Practice Standards, Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws, and evidence-based practices. A strong safety culture prioritises risk management, emergency preparedness, infection control, and continuous improvement.

Risk Assessment and Management

A key component of our health and safety is risk assessment and management. Team Strive identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks related to participant care, workplace hazards, and environmental factors. These includes ensuring safe home modifications, proper use of assistive equipment, and implementing clear protocols for medical emergencies. Workers are trained to recognise potential hazards, respond to incidents appropriately, and document risks to ensure ongoing safety improvements.

At Team Strive we practice regular hand hygiene, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), routine environmental cleaning, and refresher training on infection control procedures.

Mental Health and Well-being

At Team Strive we see mental health and well-being fundamental to workplace safety. We should offer ongoing training, supervision, and support for staff to prevent burnout and ensure high-quality care. Our Participants also have access to safe and respectful environments where their dignity, privacy, and independence are upheld.

By fostering a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with regulations, and prioritising participant and worker well-being, Team Strive creates a secure, effective, and high-quality service environment.

The commitment to Safety and Compliance is endorsed by the Board of Directors, driven by Senior Management and extends to all levels of the organisation.
